The plain-language rules for booking a trek, hike, tour, activity or rental with us: how booking and payment work, what happens if plans change, and what we each need to do to keep you safe.
About these terms
These terms apply to every trip and service you book with Lakeshore Adventures Pvt. Ltd.(“Lakeshore Adventures”, “we”, “us”), a company registered in Nepal with its office in Lakeside, Pokhara, registered with the Nepal Tourism Board and a member of the Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN). “You” means the person making the booking and everyone travelling on it.
By confirming a booking you accept these terms on behalf of everyone in your group. Anything we agree with you in writing for your own trip (on WhatsApp or by email) takes priority over these general terms where the two differ.

How booking works
Sending a request through this website, on WhatsApp or by email is not a booking and costs nothing. Nothing to pay online. We confirm your dates first. We check guide, permit, transport and accommodation availability, then send you a day-by-day plan and a confirmed price.
Your booking is confirmed when you accept that plan and price and we receive the deposit we agreed with you. We confirm it in writing. Until then, neither of us is bound and the price can still change.
Our treks and hikes are private trips for your own group of 1 to 12 people, unless we agree otherwise. Restricted-area treks such as Upper Mustang have a minimum group size set by the government; we tell you this before you book.
Prices, inclusions and exclusions
Prices on this website are starting prices per person in US dollars unless a page says otherwise (for example per seat, per item per day, or a service fee). When the site shows prices in Nepali rupees, they are converted automatically and are approximate. The price that applies to you is the one in your written confirmation.
Each trip page lists what is included and what is not. Unless your confirmation says otherwise, trek prices do not include your Nepal visa, international flights, travel insurance, drinks and snacks on the trail, hot showers, personal gear, or tips for guides and porters.
Government permit fees, park fees, fuel and domestic airfares are set by others. If they rise after you book, we may pass the increase on to you and will show you the official change; if they fall, we will pass on the saving.
Payment
- We agree the deposit with you when we confirm your trip.
- You pay the balance in Pokhara before the trip starts, in cash (Nepali rupees or US dollars) or by another method we agree in writing.
- Bank, transfer and card charges are paid by the person sending the money, so that we receive the full amount.
- We give you a receipt for every payment.
- If the balance is not paid before departure, we may treat the booking as cancelled by you.
Changing your booking
Free date changes up to 15 days before departure. Just tell us in writing. We will move your trip to new dates if guides and permits are available. Costs we have already paid to others and cannot recover, such as issued flight tickets or permits, are payable.
Changes requested less than 15 days before departure are treated as a cancellation and a new booking, although we will always try to help first. Adding travellers, extra nights or upgrades depends on availability and may change the price.
If you cancel
Please cancel in writing, on WhatsApp or by email. The date we receive it counts.
Treks, day hikes and tours
- 30 days or more before departure: we refund your deposit, less any costs already paid to others that we cannot recover (such as permits, flights, or hotel nights booked for you).
- 15 to 29 days before departure: we keep your deposit, or you can use it in full towards another trip with us within 12 months.
- Less than 15 days before departure, or if you do not turn up: the deposit is not refundable. Any balance you have not paid is no longer due.
Adventure activities
Cancel at least 24 hours before your slot for a full refund. Later cancellations and no-shows are not refunded. Photo and video packages bought on the day are between you and the operator.
Rentals, tickets and permit services
Rental gear is reserved ahead and paid when you collect it. Bus and flight tickets follow the operator’s own change and refund rules, and their date-change fees are payable by you. Our service fee for tickets and permits is not refundable once the ticket or permit has been issued.
Leaving a trip early
If you leave a trip early by choice, or because of illness or injury, unused days are not refunded. Extra transport, hotel or rescue costs that result are paid by you or your insurer.
If we cancel or change your trip
If we cancel your trip or activity because of weather or safety, you get a full refund of everything you paid us, or, if you prefer, new dates or another trip.
In the mountains, plans sometimes change on the day. Your guide may change the route, the overnight stop or the pace, or turn the group around, because of weather, landslides, trail conditions, altitude or a traveller’s health. Their decision on safety is final. When a change like this costs extra (for example extra nights when the Jomsom or Lukla flights are delayed by weather), those costs are paid by you unless your trip says they are included.
We are not responsible for delays, changes or cancellations caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, extreme weather, epidemics, strikes and road closures (bandhs), political unrest, government decisions, or the closure of airports, roads or permit offices. In those cases we will offer new dates or refund what we can recover from our suppliers.
Health, fitness and altitude
Trekking in Nepal is physically demanding. Tell us honestly about your fitness, walking experience, age and any medical conditions before you book, so we can suggest the right trip. You are responsible for being fit to travel and for getting medical advice if you are unsure.
Several of our treks go to high altitude, including Everest Base Camp (5,545 m), Annapurna Circuit & Thorong La (5,416 m), Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve/Bukipatan Trek (5,360 m), Langtang Valley Trek (4,773 m), Mardi Himal Trek (4,500 m) and Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 m). Altitude sickness can affect anyone, however fit, and can be serious.
Our guides check how you are every day, including oxygen readings on the trail. If a guide decides that you must rest, go down or stop, you must follow that decision. We may also stop anyone from starting or continuing a trip or activity if they are unwell, intoxicated, or putting themselves or others at risk, without a refund.
Adventure activities have their own age, weight and health limits, set by the operators for safety. We tell you them before you book.
Travel insurance
Travel insurance is required for every trek. It must cover trekking at the maximum altitude of your route, medical treatment, and emergency helicopter rescue and evacuation. We may ask to see your policy before departure and will not start a trek without it.
For day hikes, tours and activities, we strongly recommend travel insurance. Our activity prices include the operator’s own activity insurance where the trip page says so.
If you need rescue, evacuation or hospital treatment, those costs are your responsibility and your insurer’s. We will help arrange them and deal with your insurer, but we cannot pay them on your behalf.
Your responsibilities
- Carry a valid passport and Nepal visa, and give us the documents and photos permits need in good time.
- Arrive at the agreed meeting point on time. A late start that shortens your trip is not refunded.
- Follow your guide’s instructions, especially on safety.
- Respect local people, customs and religious sites, and the rules of conservation areas and national parks. Do not litter, and do not fly drones without the permits they need.
- Obey Nepali law. Illegal drugs are not tolerated on our trips.
- Look after your own money, passport, phone and valuables.
Adventure activities
Paragliding, rafting, bungee, zipline and ultralight flights carry real risks. They are run by licensed specialist operators using their own certified pilots, instructors and equipment. You may be asked to sign the operator’s own waiver and must follow their safety briefing. The operator may delay or cancel because of weather or safety; if so, we will rebook you or refund you as described above.
Gear rental
- Check the gear when you collect it and tell us straight away about any problem.
- Return it clean, on time and in the condition you received it, apart from normal wear.
- Late returns are charged at the daily rate. Damage beyond normal wear, or loss, is charged at the cost of repair or replacement.
- We may ask for a refundable deposit or ID when you collect.
Our responsibility to you
We plan and run every trip with reasonable care and skill, and we choose suppliers we know and trust. Adventure travel in remote mountains has risks that care cannot remove, such as altitude, weather, rockfall, river conditions, road travel and limited medical help, and you accept those risks when you travel.
We are not liable for loss, injury or damage caused by your own actions, by events outside our reasonable control, or by independent operators (such as airlines, bus companies and activity operators) beyond what we arranged on your behalf. Where we are liable, our liability is limited to the price you paid us for the affected trip.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
Using this website
We keep trip details, itineraries, photos and prices on this website as accurate as we can, but mistakes happen and conditions change. Your written confirmation is what counts. Trail guides and articles are general information, not professional, medical or safety advice.
The text, photos and design of this site belong to us or the people who licensed them to us. You may share links and quote small parts, but you may not copy the site or its photos for commercial use without our permission.
How we handle your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Complaints
If something is not right during a trip, tell your guide or call our office straight away so we can fix it there and then. If it is still not resolved, write to us at lakeshoreadventures01@gmail.com within 30 days of the end of your trip. We will reply within 14 days.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Nepal. Any dispute we cannot settle together will be decided by the courts of Kaski District, Pokhara, Nepal. This does not take away any rights you have under the consumer law of the country where you live.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, and will change the date at the top when we do. The terms in force on the day your booking is confirmed apply to that booking.
