A pilot flies you up in a tiny open aircraft until Machhapuchhre is at eye level.
Flights run from a 15-minute circuit of the lake to a full hour that takes you close to Machhapuchhre, the Fishtail. Ask for a morning slot, when the air is glassy. We pick you up from your hotel in Lakeside.
The long ultralight. It's an open cockpit with no window glass, flying low and slow. Paragliding photos are better of you than of the mountains, and helicopter windows reflect badly.
Almost always early in the morning, because that's when the air is calm and the mountains are clear. Expect a dawn start, and expect cancellations when visibility is poor.
