A full day around Pokhara, our home town, with a private car and a guide. You walk through the old Newari bazaar that most visitors miss, and your guide gives the International Mountain Museum the time it needs. As the sun drops behind the hills, you're out on Phewa in a wooden boat. The car and driver stay with you all day, and the entry tickets and the sunset boat are included. Lunch is extra, but your guide knows the good spots.

Questions before you book
Is a guided day tour worth it, or should I just use taxis?
Taxis work fine and Pokhara is easy to get around. A guide earns the fee in the old bazaar and the museum, where context is most of the value, and matters less at the lake. Our day tour covers the guide, a car and driver, and the entry tickets.
What should I skip if I am short on time?
Davis Falls in the dry season, and the various small 'view points' that charge an entry fee. Keep the lake, the cave, the old bazaar and the pagoda.
How much should a day of taxis cost?
Agree a rate for the whole day up front, not per trip. Your hotel will tell you the going number, and it's usually a fraction of what a packaged tour costs.
Is Pokhara worth a day in monsoon?
Yes. This is the itinerary that works when the mountains are hidden, because the cave, the museum and the old town are all weather-proof.
