Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 October 2026
We collect only what we need to answer you, plan your trip and keep you safe in the mountains. This page explains what that is, who sees it, and how to ask us to change or delete it.
Who we are
This website is run by Lakeshore Adventures Pvt. Ltd.(“Lakeshore Adventures”, “we”, “us”), a trekking and tour company registered with the Nepal Tourism Board and based in Lakeside, Pokhara, Nepal. We are responsible for the personal information you give us through this website, on WhatsApp, by email, by phone or at our office.
This policy covers our treks, day hikes, tours, adventure activities, gear rental, ticketing and permit services, and the website itself.
What we collect
When you ask us to check dates for a trip
The booking request form asks for the trip, your preferred start date, the number of travellers, your name, your WhatsApp number (with its country), your email address and, if you choose, a note. People often use the note for dietary needs, fitness level or medical conditions; only tell us what you are comfortable sharing.
When you send us a message
The contact form asks for your name, your email address and your message.
When we confirm and run your trip
To arrange permits, transport and accommodation and to keep you safe, we may ask for:
- passport details and passport-size photos, which Nepal’s permit authorities require for ACAP, TIMS, national park and restricted-area permits;
- your arrival details, hotel in Pokhara or Kathmandu, and flight or bus bookings;
- your travel insurance provider, policy number and emergency phone line;
- an emergency contact at home;
- health information that matters on the trail or for an activity, such as allergies, medical conditions, medication, or (for paragliding, bungee, zipline and ultralight flights) your weight and age, which the operators’ safety limits depend on;
- dietary requirements;
- payment records: what you paid, when and how. We do not take card payments on this website and never ask for card details through it.
What your device stores
If you start a booking request and leave before sending it, your browser keeps the unsent draft on your own device (in local storage) so you can pick up where you left off. It is never sent to us until you press send. It is removed when you send the request and expires after 14 days. You can clear it at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
What we do not collect
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not run third-party tracking scripts on this website. Our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
How we use your information
| Purpose | Why we are allowed to |
|---|---|
| Answering your request or message, quoting a price and itinerary | You asked us to (steps before a contract) |
| Running your trip: guides, porters, permits, transport, teahouses, hotels and activity operators | Performing our contract with you |
| Permit applications and registrations required by Nepali authorities | Legal obligation |
| Handling an emergency on the trail, including rescue, evacuation and contacting your insurer or emergency contact | Your vital interests, and our contract with you |
| Health and dietary information you share | Your explicit consent, which you can withdraw (though we may then be unable to run some trips or activities safely) |
| Accounts, receipts and tax records | Legal obligation |
| Keeping the website secure and working | Our legitimate interests |
We do not sell your information, and we do not send you marketing messages unless you ask us to keep in touch. If you do, you can tell us to stop at any time.
International transfers
We are in Nepal, and some of our service providers store data on servers outside Nepal, including in the United States and the European Union. When your information leaves the country you are in, we rely on these providers’ standard data-protection terms and security measures to protect it.
How long we keep it
- Requests and messages that do not lead to a booking: up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Booking and payment records: for as long as Nepali tax and accounting law requires.
- Passport copies, insurance and health details: deleted within 6 months after your trip ends, unless they are needed for an insurance claim, a complaint or a legal matter.
- Unsent booking drafts on your device: 14 days at most (see above).
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you and give you a copy, to correct it, to delete it, to limit or object to how we use it, or to send it to you in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
Email lakeshoreadventures01@gmail.com or message us on WhatsApp. We will reply within 30 days and may ask you to confirm your identity first. We may need to keep some information where the law requires it, such as payment records.
We follow Nepal’s Individual Privacy Act, 2075 (2018). If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you also have rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR, and you can complain to your local data protection authority. Please talk to us first so we can try to put things right.
Photos on trips
Our guides sometimes take photos on the trail. We only post photos in which you can be recognised, or tag you on Instagram or elsewhere, if you say yes. If you change your mind later, tell us and we will remove them from our own channels.
Children
Trips for travellers under 18 must be booked by a parent or guardian, who gives us the child’s details. This website is not meant for children, and we do not knowingly collect information directly from anyone under 16.
Keeping it safe
Requests sent through this website travel over an encrypted connection and are stored where only our authorised staff can read them. Passport and health details are shared with guides and suppliers only when they need them. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send card numbers or passwords to us by any channel.
Links to other sites
This site links to WhatsApp, Instagram and other websites. They have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle your information.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when how we handle personal information changes, and change the date at the top. If a change matters for a trip you have already booked, we will tell you directly.
