Ten days behind the Himalaya into the old walled kingdom of Lo — Tibetan Buddhism, ochre cliffs and no monsoon.
Upper Mustang sits in the Himalayan rain shadow — while the rest of Nepal drips through summer, Lo stays dry, blue and empty. Expect ochre cliffs, 500-year-old monasteries, and the walled city of Lo Manthang. Restricted-area permits are included; groups need a minimum of two.
