Annapurna Circuit & Thorong La

The world’s most famous trek — subtropical valleys to a 5,416 m pass and the desert of Mustang.

Pine forest above the braided Kali Gandaki riverbed, Dhaulagiri rising behind

Rice paddies to glacial desert in under two weeks. The Circuit crosses Thorong La at 5,416 m — a real high pass that deserves respect — then drops into the Buddhist valleys of lower Mustang. We build in two acclimatization days at Manang because summit day should feel hard, not dangerous.

Why you'll love it

  • Thorong La at 5,416 m — the pass the whole trek is built around
  • Manang at 3,540 m, with an acclimatization day and the altitude clinic talk
  • Subtropical Marsyangdi valleys to the Mustang desert in twelve days
  • Muktinath at 3,760 m, sacred to Hindus and Buddhists both

Day by day

A long but spectacular jeep day up the Marsyangdi gorge.
