Mardi Himal Trek
A quiet ridge walk straight toward Machhapuchhre — Pokhara’s best-kept not-so-secret.
Mardi is the trek our guides do on their days off. You climb out of Pokhara’s backyard through mossy forest onto an open ridge that aims directly at the Fishtail. Every hour the mountain gets bigger. Small teahouses, few crowds, and a base-camp sunrise that feels earned.
Why you'll love it
- Mardi Himal Base Camp at 4,500 m — not just the 4,200 m viewpoint
- Machhapuchhre at arm's length the whole way up the ridge
- High Camp at 3,580 m, on a knife-edge of grass above the cloud
- Forest Camp and Low Camp: moss, rhododendron and almost no one else
