Kori Danda Trek

The high ridge above Sikles — four days to 3,800 m and a horizon of Annapurna II, IV and Lamjung.

Kori Danda Trek — drop a photo

Kori shares its trailhead with Kapuche but goes the other way — up, hard, to an open ridge at 3,800 m that gets you level with the snowline in four days from Pokhara. It is the steepest of our short treks: roughly 1,800 m of climbing above Sikles, much of it in one long day, with a couple of very basic lodges and one stretch where the water source is a stream. What you get for that is a genuinely alpine finish an hour and a half's drive from Lakeside, with Annapurna II, Annapurna IV, Lamjung Himal and the whole Madi valley below you, and the strong probability that nobody else is up there.

Why you'll love it

  • 3,800 m of open ridge four days out of Pokhara
  • Annapurna II, Annapurna IV and Lamjung Himal at close range
  • Shares the quiet Sikles trailhead — combinable with Kapuche Lake
  • Steep, honest walking with an alpine payoff

Ninety minutes by jeep up the Madi, then into the village. Early night — tomorrow is the big one.
